The PDGA: Flying for 25 years - This year marks the 25th anniversary of the creation of the Professional Disc Golf Association. Back in April of 1976 Ed Headrick created the organization as his Disc Golf Association (DGA) grew. At the time, a membership in the PDGA indicated you had grown and developed to 'professionally' represent the sport as a 'Disc Golf Ambassador'. PDGA members represented the face of Disc Golf and worked to grow the sport. A lot has changed since 1976, (who would have thought Disc Golf would be a medal sport at the World Games in Akita, Japan this year?) but Ed's idea of what a PDGA member should be still holds true for all of us today. To commemorate this milestone in our development look for special merchandise and limited collectors discs at the PDGA table during the FlyMart. The PDGA would like to thank Discraft and Innova Champion Discs for generously donating limited run collector's discs. Not only does their support help strengthen our organization's bottomline, it allows us to offer our members quality merchandise at very fair prices. See you at the FlyMart!

Lightning Golf Discs - The Front Line of Flying Discs - Lightning Discs was started in 1984 manufacturing a single disc, the P-38 "Lightning" - named after the legendary WWII fighter plane. The disc soon broke the World Distance Record, the 1st to top the 200 yard mark - breaking the previous record by over 60ft. After 15 years the line has grown to 24 production molds - all run "in-house" by disc golfers. Golf Bags are also available from the factory located in Dallas Texas. New for 2001 a new HI-Test resin will be available in 14 molds- The Prostyle Line. This new plastic is heavier than water, so none will float, but the material is extremely durable and easy to grip, giving the disc longer life and better performance. Tye-Dye discs will also be available in Prostyle Plastic.
